They don't make them like they used to!
The absolutely gorgeous sideboard from Eastgate Furniture is nothing short of a knockout.
I beleive this piece to be quite rare ad formely, I've only seen draws and dressers from this maker.
Featuring an incredible 'floating' base made of solid wood and brass supports. This is a real stand out and makes the unit incredibly solid - and heavy!
The teak veneer is simply stunning. With grain pattern carrying over the drawers and doors, the craft on this piece shows particluar care and attention to detail.
There are 5 drawers offering plenty of storage. The first of which has the original cuttlery divider still in tact and in good shape.
The Eastgate badge is still present and has little to no wear.
The doored compartment gives way to two fixed shelves offering generous storage, with plenty of options. Both shelves are tall enough to hold vinyl too.
There is one blemish to the veneer edge on the back left hand corner (pictured)
The rest of the unit however, is near new. There are no scratches or wear to the veneer.
There are key holes, but no keys. What is even more interesting is that there aren't even keyhole mechanisms. It appears that the keyholes are for show or perhaps decoration - which is a first in my book!
This is a rare unit is excellent condition. It demands to be the feature piece of a room and would do so with ease.
